Walls and Windows!

Well, we drove to the house today, so I could walk through it now that it has been framed, and when we turned the corner we found this...

Since Jason had left yesterday when he went on his lunch break they had put up the outside walls and installed all of the windows! It's going up so fast, it's so crazy! We realized that we are 2 1/2 months from moving in! We are almost down to single digits in weeks!

That's exciting and kinda scary because we are starting to think of all that we will need to plan for and purchase before the move (fridge, lawn mower, etc.)

So we started looking at some fridges, lawnmowers, and furniture today. We are definitely the type that we have to look and look everywhere, and do our research before we purchase big items.

A Walk Through Time

Last night I had the honor of attending one of my best friend's in high school wedding! Lacey and Brian were married on March 27th at 6:00 pm at A&M gardens in Azle, TX.
It was so so special to see one of my best friends united in marriage with an amazing man who makes her so happy!

When I walked into the bridal room tears came to my eyes because she was so radiant and breathtakingly beautiful! Lacey and I stood by each other's side during many challenging and wonderful times surviving high school and many more since. It tickles me to death to think about the times we layed in her room talking about boys, wondering what kind of guy we would marry some day, and imagining our wedding and to see the outcome today.

Lacey actually introduced Jason and I the summer before we left for Tech, so it was such a blessing for her to stand by my side on our wedding day.

The first time Lacey told me about Brian I knew there was something different about this guy from the sound in her voice, and after our next few conversations I told Jason that she would marry Brian (but I didn't tell her that at the time!)

We talked a few nights before her wedding. She called because she heard that old Garth Brooks song,"Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers," and we laughed at how thankful we were that we did not marry all of those silly boys in high school we had such big crushes on! I am so thankful that God's plan is bigger than my own and during those years when we were wondering he was preparing and molding such amazing men as Jason and Brian to be our husbands!

I can't wait to see the next chapter of their lives unfold as they begin their journey of married life! Congrats to the newlyweds!

It's Framed!

Well, Jason went to Minnesota last week and I had tryouts and was at school every night until 8 pm. It rained several days, so on Wednesday and Thursday neither of us made it by to see it, and then on Friday when we did, this is what we found! Talk about fast!

I haven't been able to make it over there to see it yet, but I absolutely can't wait to walk through it!

Plumbing, Porta Potties, and More!

Hip hip hurray! They poured our foundation for our house! I am so excited! We didn't walk on it yet, because it is still drying, but hopefully by Sunday it will be dry!

Jason has been going by each day to check the progress of our house, and he takes a picture each day, so once it is built, we will be able to make a slide show of our house being built! Here's an update in pictures!

Funny Story...Jason is a good photographer and was able to not get the porta potty that is sitting to the right of our house in these pictures...However, there is in fact a porta potty on our lot. A few weeks ago I was driving by the house, and past another house that is a few weeks ahead of ours, and saw they had a porta potty in front of it..."I wish we had a porta potty in front of our house," I thought...Crazy right, want to know why? Because that meant that they are working on it enough that they needed one right by our house...So now we have our porta potty...LOL! I will try and get Jason to take a pick of it soon as well for your enjoyment!

A little bit of this and that...

I thought I'd post a few updates on here, since it's been awhile...

Spring Break...It's here! I am so thankful for a few days off! We went this past weekend to Austin to meet my cousin's new precious son! Jill and Scott were blessed to adopt Cade in January and we were blessed to meet him! We had a wonderful time ooohing and aaahing over him!

I spent the last few days shopping with my mom and spending time with friends and family. Unfortunately, part of Spring Break will be cut into by our last competition, but I am enjoying the time I have!

Our House...They are making progress. We drove by tonight and they have all the work laid out and hopefully will be pouring the foundation this week! (Cross your fingers!) I get more and more excited everytime we go! I told Jason tonight if I was this excited about the foundation, imagine my excitement when we get our beautiful cabinets, granite, and chandelier! Oh my! haha! We are praying all continues smoothly and we will close three months from tomorrow! I will post some more pictures soon!

I love you so much and hope you have a great birthday! I am so thankful for your friendship and all that we've shared in life together. I would not be the person I am today without you! From hours of playtime when we were little, to lots of sleepovers and hours on the phone as teenagers, to hours being silly and crazy as roommates...God has blessed us with such a special relationship! We've stood by each other's side through the most joyous times in life, and the hardest. I am so proud of the beautiful woman you are, and so inspired by the heart you have! You have taught me so much by the way you live your life. I love you and can't wait to see all the more God has in store for our futures! Before you know it we'll be celebrating 50, wearing bright colors and big hats!

I wanted to write a short note to ask for prayers for the family of one of the girls on our Varsity Dance Team. She received a call Friday evening after our practice that her family was in a very bad accident outside of Lubbock. We later have learned that she lost three of her cousins, and her aunt is still in the hospital, although last reported to be in better condition. Their were six people in the car, and 5 of them were killed, along with another person in the other car involved in the wreck. Her three cousins were 4, 6, and 8 year old little boys. I can't imagine the immense pain her family is dealing with right now. Please pray for this family, for healing for her aunt who is still recovering, for God's love and peace to comfort them during this time as they are suffering from such a deep sense of loss and grief. Thank you for your prayers.
