I wanted to give a quick update on our house. We have been working to come to a compromise with our builder as to where they will put the house on the lot. They were not honoring what they had originally told us, but after we considered it we found a different spot that we think will be better. Our lot is shaped somewhat like that of a culdesac lot, and we wanted to maximize our backyard space as much as possible. As it will sit, we will have a larger back yard, and an even larger side yard.
We had the Team Meeting today where we sat down with our builder to finalize all of our plans, including placement of light switches, telephone, cable, design selections, etc. It was SO EXCITING when he rolled out the big floor plan...It became very real to see it all out on paper with the changes we've made! After we signed off on everything, our builder explained the building process to us, and as he talked about us making a final walk through and then closing, I could just picture our new beautiful home, and can't wait to see it go up! Afterwards, Jason and I drove by our lot again. They are going to start fixing the framing for our foundation on Friday, so we will have to start going by each day then.
We were talking tonight and realized that in four short months we will be moving into our new home! We can hardly believe it. Although we have a larger one bedroom apartment, we have started to feel a little cramped, and can't wait to have space for everthing! And I absolutely can't wait to decorate again!
At night before I go to sleep I close my eyes and picture different rooms, and how We could arrange them, etc.

25 Random Things About Me
I was tagged for this a long time ago, and started it several times but never finished it...It took me a long time to come up with 25 random things about myself!
Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you. (I am not tagging 25 people!)
1. One of my favorite things to drink is chocolate milk…My dad always made if for me when I was little, particularly late at night before bed…I’m craving it now!
2. I have been dancing since I was 4 years old. My mom enrolled me in a tumbling class at my preschool, I hated it (well I wasn’t to fond of the teacher) and that was the end of that. A few weeks later she signed me up for dance and the rest is history!
3. The director I work with was my drill team director (when I was in high school) french teacher (when she was in high school)…Small world huh?
4. The two places that I would most like to travel to someday are Europe and Hawaii.
5. I absolutely love to read about and see pictures of weddings. I didn’t spend a lot of time thinking about my wedding as a little girl, but once I started planning my own I got so into the details. I’d love to be a wedding planner if it didn’t involve so much time on weekends and putting up with crazed people!
6. I am a night owl, far beyond an early riser, yet I have a job right now where I have to get up at 5:30 most mornings.
7. Seven is my favorite number…along with being by birthday (In January)
8. My first name is actually my mother’s maiden name…My parents had no clue how popular of a name Lindsey would turn out to be!
9. I have always dreamed of living in New York City for a few months or year and studying dance there. I doubt that will happen now, but God had other plans for me! My dream job is to be a Broadway dancer!
10. My second to littlest toe is actually shorter than my little toe…It used to offend me a lot when people commented on it, but then I got over it. I remember still being somewhat insecure about it when Jason noticed it for the first time…He said he thought it was cute, and that was a clue he was a keeper!
11. Jason asked me to be his girlfriend on the same date that my maternal grandparents got married on…October 7th!
12. I really like taking pictures, and have always wanted to take a photography class, but never done so.
13. If it weren’t so far from family my husband and I would love to live in Lubbock, and still be close to Tech.
14. Speaking of Tech, my mom went there, and we visited often when I was little. There is actually a video of me playing on the playground at the Human Sciences college when I was 2 years old…16 years later I went to school in the same exact college!
15. My senior year when I was in high school I got to dance in the Macy’s Day Parade and on the Today Show. It is one of the coolest things I have ever done!
16. I always said I would never be a teacher, until my freshman year in college…Never say never!
17. After my husband and my first date my best friend asked me what he looked like and I said, “His eyes are like the ocean.” I’ve never lived it down since! To be fair, Jason’s eyes do look almost turquoise when he wears that color, and I proved it on our honeymoon cruise!
18. My mom used to drive me crazy with how she cleaned everything, until I moved out and realized I turned into her! LOL!
19. I sleep with the ceiling fan on even in the winter. If it is absolutely silent I can’t fall asleep. So did Jason, that was a relief when we got married!
20. Everyone assumes Jason and I met at Tech…I love telling the story of how my best friend in high school introduced us and we went on three dates before we left for college and the rest is history!
21. I am super sentimental and love to look back at old pictures, videos, etc.
22. I love to go to Barnes and Noble and walk through the clearance aisles and find cool books.
23. One of my most favorite memories of our honeymoon is one night I looked out on our balcony of the cruise and there was full moon, and it appeared as if it’s light shone a path directly across the water to me. It took my breath away, and I called Jason out there. We went and sat for over an hour just listening to the ocean and watching the moon. I felt so small yet so blessed to be a part of God’s Kingdom. It was one of the most peaceful moments of my whole life.
24. Most people think that I am quiet and reserved, but if you really know me, you know the opposite is definitely true!
25. My goals for the next few years are to create a wonderful home for my husband and I in our new house being built, grow as a teacher and drill team director, cherish the time my husband and I have with each other, start a family, and serve, honor, and follow God and my husband as I do all of the above!

Competition!
I promised I'd update with a picture and all the details about competition...So here it goes...
My girls after the Awards Ceremony...
Both the team, and my officers won a Sweepstakes Award, scoring a 90 or above in all of their routines. They also won a Choreography Award and High Point Award for their Novelty Routine.

I haven't put many pictures of them up, for lack of time, I am always running around so busy to take any! :-) But I got a copy of their team picture this year

A Tale Through Time of My Valentine!
Jason and I celebrated our Valentine's this past weekend, because I will be very busy this coming Saturday...My JV Dance Team is competing in their first and only competition this year. I am anxious to see how we will do! We are competing in four categories, Officer Jazz, Team Kick, Team Pom, and Team Novelty. I'll let you know how it goes!
Going back to Valentine's Day, my sweet husband and I decided to celebrate early this year...Last Saturday we went to Cheesecake Factory for an amazing dinner. And then Sunday afternoon we treated each other to a movie, "He's Just No That Into You." We both really enjoyed it! Last night I came home to some BEAUTIFUL flowers from my sweetie! He decided to get them for me early this year, so he had more selection, and so I can enjoy them since we'll be busy this weekend! As we were talking one night last week we realized this is our 6th Valentine's to spend together! Crazy! We had fun remembering some of our past favorite Valentine's Days!
On our first Valentine's Day Jason wrote me a song, and played it for me on his guitar...Talk about melting a girl's heart! Later he recorded it for me, so we still have it today! I spent hours and hours baking dozens of heart shaped cookies, which I frosted to look like candy hearts and then inscribed with places and memories that were special at that time. I painted a tin for them to go in as well.

House Drama
We knew it was coming...We just didn't know how soon!
We have been anxious to meet with the builder and for them to break ground on our house. We called this week and they said it would still be another 2 weeks until the permits went through the city and then we would meet with the builder to finalize the plans, etc.
Jason took his grandparents to see a model home with the same floor plan as our house, and then to drive by our lot to show them where our house will be.
Much to his surprise, as he drove around the subdivision he saw they had started to break ground and frame the foundation. Excitement turned to fear when he got closer, and realized they had framed our house in the wrong location on our lot!
One thing that was really important to us was having a larger backyard, so we chose a larger lot. Our salesperson suggested that we run the house parallel to one side and that way we would have not only a larger back yard, but a large side yard on one side as well. It was a great idea and we agreed.
However, in their preliminary preparation, the builder didn't check our file, and they framed the house in the normal location in the middle of the lot...Eeeeek!
Thank goodness Jason went by today, and we saw it, so that THANKFULLY it can be fixed! We had planned to drive by their everyday once they broke ground, because it isn't far from either of our work. Guess we will have to go sooner than we thought.
I know we are going to have to stay on top of things to make sure everything goes smoothly and we get everything the way we want it.

Inspiration
With competition right around the corner for our dance teams, I have had numerous 12-14 hour days with rehearsals and teaching, on top of trying to keep the house clean, and spend precious time with my husband, I am starting to wear down a bit, and afraid I've caught a bug that Jason had.
I received this in an email, and though I've read it before it brightened my day, and reminded me of so many callings God has for my life, and the strength He provides me to serve Him in these each day. Thought I would share a little inspiration with you...
You Are Amazing....
By the time the Lord made women, he was into his sixth day of working overtime. An Angel appeared and said, "Why are you spending so much time on this one?" And the Lord answered and said, "Have you seen the spec sheet on her? She has to be completely washable, but not plastic, have 200 movable parts, all replaceable, run on black coffee and leftovers, have a lap that can hold three children at one time, have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart, and have six pairs of hands." The Angel was astounded at the requirements for this one. "Six pairs of hands! No Way!", "And that's just on the standard model?" the Angel asked. The Angel tried to stop the Lord. "This is too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finish."But I can't!" the Lord protested, "I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself when she is sick AND can work 18 hour days.The Angel moved closer and touched the woman, "but you have made her so soft, Lord." "She is soft," the Lord agreed, "but I have also made Her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish.""Will she be able to think?", asked the Angel. The Lord replied, "Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason, and negotiate."The Angel then noticed something and reached out and touched the woman's cheek. " Oops, it looks like you have a leak with this model. I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one.""That's not a leak," the Lord objected, "that's a tear!" "What's the tear for?" the Angel asked. The Lord said, " The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her loneliness, her grief, and her pride." The Angel was impressed. "You are a genius, Lord. You thought of everything, for women are truly amazing."
Women have strengths that amaze men. They carry hardships, they carry burdens but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream. They sing when they want to cry. They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous. They fight for what they believe in. They stand up for injustice. They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.They go without so their family can have. They go to the doctor with a frightened friend. They love unconditionally. They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards. They are happy when they hear about a birth or a new marriage.Their hearts break when a friend dies. They have sorrow at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left. They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart. Women come in all sizes, in all colors and shapes. They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.The heart of a woman is what makes the world spin! They bring joy and hope. They give compassion and ideals. They give moral support to their family and friends. Women have a lot to say and a lot to give.

Recipe Swap
So I am participating in a recipe swap...If you would like to join me, check out Ashley's blog here.
The object is to share tried and true recipes your family loves! I have so many family recipes I love, but most are somewhat time consuming, so I thought I'd share two that I have found to be very tasty and easy to throw together even on a week night! Enjoy!
Jason and I recently stumbled upon a new recipe we like. We kind of adapted the recipe from one online, so I am going to include instructions for how we make it, but know you can adapt it to fit your own needs as well.
Delicious,Easy Pork Chops Recipe
1. Use olive oil to coat your skillet (We use a non stick one)
2. Brown and begin to cook pork chops on medium/high heat over the stove (as many as needed, we do one for each of us). We usually cook them on one side for about 4 minutes then flip them to the other side.
3. As they are cooking sprinkle a little garlic, salt, and pepper on them.
4. Take the pork chops out of the skillet, and drain off excess oil/fat.
5. Pour a can of cream of mushroom soup into the pan. Add a spoonful of sour cream and a little milk until the soup becomes creamy as desired. Let the sauce begin to simmer.
6. Once the sauce is simmering, put the pork chops back in the pan and let them simmer in the sauce for a few minutes
We usually serve it with some vegetables, and it makes a wonderful quick easy dinner for a weeknight. You can also make this dish with chicken as well, if you aren't' a fan of pork chops.
Here's one more I discovered in college...
Salsa Chicken
1. Coat chicken breasts (one per person) in taco seasoning.
2. Place in pan and pour salsa to cover chicken completely. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until chicken is fully cooked.
3. A few minutes before you take the chicken out sprinkle it with a blend of shredded mexican cheese and let that melt on the top.
I usually buy refried beans and or rice to heat up and serve with this!
