Holidays 2009

Before the year is over I wanted to post a few pictures from our Holidays of 2009...

We spent Thanksgiving with dinners with both of our families and then spent the weekend with Jason's family at Canyon Lake. We drove down to San Antonio Saturday night and walked the Riverwalk and took the boat ride with all the Christmas lights...It was so beautiful.

Christmas Eve we spent celebrating with Jason's family at his grandparent's. We also celebrated our first white Christmas together! This was the first Christmas in our new home so it was extra special!

Christmas day we began the morning with cinammon rolls and orange juice a tradition we've started together.

That afternoon and evening we went to celebrate with my family. It was really neat to see my grandad be able to tell the Christmas story to my two little cousins the third generation of our family!

Welcome to our home! It is our first Christmas here and it has been so much fun to decorate!

This is my favorite part of our Christmas decor! Can't wait to get a fire going soon!

I started collecting Christmas tree toppers last year and continued to add to it, along with a few of the glittery trees that are out this year!

Our family Christmas tree...We have a Red, Black, and Gold Christmas tree...It's a Texas Tech tree with other family ornaments. The year before we got married my husband bought the official Tech ornaments for each year we were at Tech and we have continued to collect them ever since then.

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is to turn off all the lights in the house except those on the tree and sit in the living room drinking hot chocolate and listening ot Christmas music.

Dining room centerpiece...I tried to find and use some things we already had to incorporate in our holiday decor this year to save some money...Crystal and Christmas balls go great together!

A garland I got last year at Garden Ridge...The one on our mantle I bought at Hobby Lobby with only pine cones and then added the rest myself.

A cute decoration I used in our kitchen. One of my student's mother's made it for me last Christmas...It's a brick painted like a snowman with a scarf and sock for a hat! How creative!

We had an amazing 2nd Christmas together...Jason took his second week of vacation off the week of Christmas, so we spent so much wonderful quality time together! We were so spoiled! We also spent alot of time with family!

Getting in the Christmas Spirit!

Well it is 1 1/2 days until Christmas break, but Jason and I have been working on getting in the Christmas spirit for awhile now. The weekend before last we enjoyed heading to Lubbock for the 50th Anniversary of Carol of Lights. This is a really special tradition at Tech where they have caroling and light up the campus. We hadn't been in 2 years, so we were really excited about going back to it!

The extra special part was our family went with us! My parents, Mandy, my aunt & uncle, and cousins all went! My mom had not been to Carol of Lights since she was in college, and it was my dad's first time! They also brought our "niece" Kaytlyn...It was her first trip to Lubbock! We are working real hard to make her into a Red Raider. They have a stuffed Raider Red that plays the fight song, and we always all do Guns Up when it plays. Kayty and Jackson have both learned Guns Up, and when she saw Raider Red at Carol of Lights she tried to put her GUns Up in her little mittens, and started to sing! LOL! She will be a Red Raider yet! While we were there we went out to the Vintage Township addition Christmas Display. It was beautiful and so much fun!

Last weekend we had fun going to Jason's Christmas party for work. It was at Austin Ranch in Grapevine. His company put everyone up for the night in the DFW Lakes Hilton, always nice!

Christmas Tour of Homes

Wow it has been a long time since I posted. I keep meaning to, but never get around to it...But I figured this would be a good opportunity to post. It's a Christmas Tour of Homes Blog Style...how fun!



So here it goes...I must admit I am cheating a little. Some of these pictures are from last year, but not much has changed, and I added pictures of the new things we've aquired this year...

Pretty stockings...and my Ballet Tree. Every year when I was younger I would get a dance ornament...When we got married my mom gave them all to me, and now I've continued the tradition and have enough for my own little tree!

A work in progress...I saw a cool collection of Christmas tree toppers, and I am still looking for some red ones to complete my collection, until then red candles are holding their place.
