Our Master Retreat

We have so enjoyed having much more space in our Master Bedroom and Bathroom than in our tiny one bedroom and bathroom apartment!

Our Bedroom is in Champagne and Black Damask

We bought our bedroom furniture a few months after we got married.

Most of the pictures in our bedroom are of our engagement, wedding, and honeymoon. We really enjoy waking up each day surrounded with memories of these amazing times in our lives.

All of the pictures on the chest are from our honeymoon. The black statue we got in Costa Maya the last stop on our cruise, and the vase on the right we got on Roatan Island, my favorite beach we visited!

I found these ivory damask window treatments at JC Penney online and couldn't wait to see them up in the house! We really enjoy the natural light in the back of the house!

The master bath is so relaxing! Double vanities are so great! The garden tub is amazing to come home to relax in at the end of the day, and we love the separate shower! My mom is helping me make a black and white damask tie up balloon shade, so I will post pictures of that later!

I told Jason before we signed the contract to build the house that in the contract it said I could put a chandelier above the garden tub. :-)

I found this chandelier online and we spray painted it black and then I added the crystals to it!

Metz's Bed and Breakfast

The guest bedroom is one of my favorite rooms in the house!

The bed was my great grandmother's and the bookcase was my grandmother's. They are both beautiful antiques. The bedspread was a birthday present from my mom in college. I absolutely love brown, but I didn't want our whole house to be brown, so I decided to add a relaxing light turquoise.

My favorite part of the room is the decor above the bed! I chose the saying and ordered it from Uppercase Living online. It's great, you get to pick the colors, size, font, and can even create your own saying. The most special part of the room is the pictures of us, our parents, and grandparents at weddings and anniversary parties throughout our lives. We are very blessed to have parents and grandparents who have given us a legacy of love to model Christ's love in a marriage.

On the top of the bookcase is my collection of dance statues.

Living and Dining Rooms

I already posted the Kitchen, which opens into our Living and Dining Rooms. We had alot of red, brown, and gold in our apartment. I am a big fan of warm colors! However, I wanted to differentiate rooms in our home, so I added an accent of green to the living room.

The newest addition to our living room as of today...My parent's gave us a fabulous houswarming present we will treasure for years to come!

The Dining Room...Our work in progress...The main reason I posted this was to show the red wall...I have always wanted to paint a wall red in my home! The furniture we have now was my great grandmother's and grandmother's that my mom passed down to me. We plan to refinish the table to have the top brown and the molding and legs black.

We also just purchased a new china cabinet that is coming soon.

And we are looking at new dining room chairs that are a black and brown combo, possibly similar to this.

The Big Reveal!

Well, it has been a lot of hard work, but we are almost done with the house! We had a Housewarming Party this weekend for some friends and family. Since we had the party, I decided to have an online Open House for those friends and family who don't live close enough to come...I thought I would post a new room each day. (Note: We'll see how that goes...I have camp this week, and then am going on a short girls trip with my mom, aunt, and cousin this weekend, so this week is pretty packed!) Anyways, I thought I would start with the entry way and study.

Show Us Your Life ~ Wedding Dress

One of the blogs I like to follow is Kelly's Korner. She's been doing a tour of homes each Friday, whiech sadly I wasn't able to participate in, because we were still in the process of building our home. But it was a great way to look at rooms and get ideas! And you will all get a look at our new home soon. We are almost done, and having a housewarming party this weekend, so I'll post more pictures after that...I don't want to give too much away too soon! :-)

Anyways, she finished with tour of homes and has moved on to Show Us Your Life, so I thought it would be fun to participate this week...This week is show us your wedding dress.

The first time I saw my wedding dress was before my husband and I were even engaged. I was with my roommates in college shopping for one of their wedding gowns and our bridesmaid dresses, and we walked in the store and on a mannequin, there it was. It took my breath away! "That's my wedding dress, " I said. "Really? They said, "Try it on." I refused to try it on then, but several months down the road when we got engaged, it remained on my mind. I went to many different places to look and tried on countless gowns, but in the end, this one still one my heart. All my friends and family said it looked just like me.

I found my dress at David's Bridal, it was part of the Oleg Cassini collection, who actually designed much of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis's wardrobe while she was in the White House!

I loved it the first day I saw it, the day I tried it on, the day I wore it down the aisle to marry my best friend, and still today...To me it was elegant, classic, and timeless!
